Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: A very cute and well presented cottage for what was a two night stay. The very spacious, modern bathroom that was equipped with a large spa as well as a washer and dryer was an added bonus. We also appreciated the provision of a breakfast pack containing bread, eggs, bacon, juice and milk. The nightly rate was very reasonable for the accommodation and facilities.

Negative: I wouldn’t describe the following comments as things we didn’t like but, rather, as suggestions for consideration. The cow’s milk provided was long life milk and it tastes different to regular milk, which I would have preferred. We found that the cut wood provided for the wood burner was slightly too long for the size of the firebox and would have been easier to use if it was just a cm or two shorter. I’d also suggest splitting a couple of the large pieces in half to supplement the smaller kindling provided to get the fire going more easily. We were aware of other comments regarding the size of the kitchenette, which was quite compact. We didn’t try to do anything elaborate so it was adequate for our purposes but others may find this restrictive. One aspect we weren’t really expecting was the fact that, while sitting in the lounge area near the fire, we could hear the conversation of the folks in the adjoining cottage through a closed-off opening in the corner of the common wall, which was slightly disconcerting. Those relatively minor observations aside, though, we had a very enjoyable couple of nights in a character-filled cottage.
