Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: It was a fancy tent in the desert. It had a super kingsize bed which was very comfortable. It was en-suite. Food was served in a nearby tent. The food was pretty good both at the evening meal and breakfast. The staff were very friendly and we had a laugh singing and dancing around the campfire. The camel ride in, the sunset, the sunrise - all amazing.
Negative: The price didn’t include the trip from where you park in Merzouga to the actual tent. At €70 per person return (camel out, 4x4 return) it was quite expensive. But for two nights stay this additional cost meant the room was €120/night which included half board. So not unreasonable. But it would have been nice to know beforehand and I certainly didn’t see it when I booked the tent through booking.com. We stayed two nights and there wasn’t much to do during the day. A 4x4 excursion was an option as were quad bikes but the weather was wet for some of the day so neither would have been much fun.
Summary: For the opportunity to be in the desert to see sunrise and sunset it’s definitely worth doing
