Welcome to our peaceful Lakefront retreat on 525 acres all sports Union Lake in Union City, MI. Our home is a wonderful, relaxing retreat for the entire family to enjoy. We are about 5 minutes away from Union City where there are a quaint family grocery and several nice restaurants, including a wonderful pizza parlor. You can bring a boat or Jet skis to put in at the public dock, which is located just down the street. We have 2 kayaks for you to enjoy (bring your own life jackets), and the location of our home is in a cove of the lake which is an excellent fishing location (bring your own fishing gear). We also have a fire pit and lots of outdoor seating for your enjoyment.
Our cozy 3 bedroom home has a fully equipped kitchen with a coffee pot providing piping hot coffee, perfect for drinking on the back deck on the cooler Michigan mornings. Our dining table seats 4, which is great for meals with family or putting together puzzles or playing cards (provided). The living room has two comfy couches, perfect for naps, and a gas fireplace for those chilly nights in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. The master bedroom has a king bed with an attached bathroom with a shower and a double vanity. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed, and the 3rd bedroom has a twin bed. The second bathroom has a tub/shower combo, perfect for the kiddies to clean up after a day playing in the water. There are 2 Kayaks available for your use (we just need to know if you want to use them so we can make them available), as well as a few life jackets for your use, but we highly recommend that you bring your own life jackets to ensure a proper fit. Our lakefront is very wooded, but you have a small path down to the water, perfect for fishing (bring your own fishing equipment) or launching the kayaks. The lake is a little mucky and weedy in that area, but ok for swimming if you are ok with those conditions.
Inside the home, there are a few puzzles and cards for your enjoyment. We also have two Smart TVs, one in the living room and one in the master bedroom, which gives you access to Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc. (you will need to sign in with your own accounts), several internet TV channels, and a basic Dish satellite package.
There are a washer and dryer available for your use (including some laundry supplies). We only ask that on checkout day you start the first load of laundry and strip all of the beds that you have used. Towels and washcloths are available as well.
There is NO SMOKING (of any kind) inside the home or on the property. We have neighbors on all sides of the home, and we ask that you remain respectful with regards to noise level, appropriate language, etc. We are a family lake atmosphere and our home is not for parties.
Guests will have access to the entire home, excluding the basement, semi-attached garage, and the pole barn. Please enjoy the entire 5-acre property, 2 kayaks, and the lake. You are welcome to bring your own boats and/or jet skis, and you can put them in the lake at the public boat launch which is located down the street.
Other things to note:
The home is on well water which is safe to drink and to cook with, but if you prefer you can bring your own water for drinking and/or cooking. Also, bring firewood if you are planning on using the fire pit. We will provide a small amount to get you started.
Also, you might want to bring water shoes!!
A reminder - There is NO SMOKING (of any kind) inside the home. If you must smoke outside the home but on the property please remove all traces such as butts, etc.
There are 3 cameras installed outside around the house to ensure the safety of our guests and the security of the property.
We respect and appreciate our neighbors, and we want them to respect and appreciate us. Please be considerate of our neighbors. Quiet hours after 10 pm on weekdays and 11 pm on weekends. Follow lake rules which are posted in our home binder. NO SMOKING of any kind inside the home. A violation of non-disclosure of the accurate number of guests, bringing a pet, or smoking on the property may result in the loss of the entire security deposit or an immediate cancellation. There is NO SMOKING of any kind in the home.
Amenity limitation – A small amount of firewood and water are available to get you started. Additionally, we have a well and septic and you CANNOT flush anything except the toilet paper provided!
Security deposit – if you damage the home, you may be charged up to $500
