Positive: The view of the lake and ocean was fabulous; the kitchen was well-appointed and the towels/bedding were of great quality. Doors onto the balcony from all the bedrooms was a plus, as were fans in each bedroom. The swimming pool was a bonus and very nice. The entrance, lobby and lift were clean; the secure basement parking was helpful considering it rained for most of our stay! Proximity to the main shopping/Cafe strip and Coles was another bonus. We really enjoyed our time at Sandy Cove.
Negative: The windows facing east are fixed panes of glass and the only way to ventilate the living space is through a small north-facing balcony door. It's a design flaw in the building so it can't be fixed. But it's noticeable. A couple of pedestal or ceiling fans would be useful. We needed the air-conditioner for the 38°C temperature one day, which was thankfully an option! Two of the beds were Double (rightly or wrongly I assumed they'd be Queen size). Surprisingly we managed to sleep OK despite being used to a King bed. It wasn't a deal breaker, but might be important to know if you are really tall. We could see a WiFi modem in the unit but were not told the password either beforehand or when we asked during our stay. Seems de rigueur to have free WiFi these days, so that was disappointing (one has to use internet for looking up places to go when it rains, after all!!)
