Positive: My mother-in-law booked this room last minute for us as we had travelled to the Lake District and had been let down by another property we had booked. The photos of the property looked nice. It was only after booking that I read the reviews. I was not looking forward to the booking, but it was getting late, we were running out of options and the room was very reasonably priced. This is my honest review of Rayrigg Villa After booking, I was sent a pass code to access the property. Upon entering, there was a very faint musty smell in the hall. Not too strong. Our room was room 5 at the very top of the house. I was pleasantly surprised just how lovely the room was. Nicely decorated, nice bedding, it had everything you would need. 2 bedside lamps, a t.v. kettle, tea and coffee etc. A hair dryer, a fan, an iron and ironing board. An ensuite.There was a shared kitchen, with dishwasher, washing machine and dryer that guests were welcome to use. The place was spotless. Our bedroom was at the back of the house so we didn't hear much traffic. It had a bus stop( we don't drive), right opposite the property. It is in a convenient position for shops, bars and restaurants and for travelling around the Lake District. I honestly don't know why it had bad reviews? Although they were from 23/24. I can honestly say that I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
