Treetop Hideaway is set back from the road and surrounded by 10 acres of forest. This is the perfect spot to unwind and relax! The cabin is the perfect partially off grid tiny home experience. As one of our guests recently stated "This place is magical!'
Treetop Hideaway has everything you could want and is surprisingly roomy for it's 500sq ft. (280sq ft on main floor). It is a very comfortable couples escape.
The river is deep, weed free and amazingly quiet. This often makes for a serene swimming experience -think 7am skinny dipping with a coffee waiting on the dock. It's cottage life perfection! A canoe, paddles and life jackets are available for river adventure or a short paddle out to beautiful Pickerel Lake.
The lower bedroom is cozy, packed with charm and has just enough space for a comfy double bed. It's large picture windows allow you to awake to the the sights and sounds of nature. The spacious loft is like 'sleeping in a tree house' with beautiful views over the forest. It is 5'10" at it's peak and offers a queen, single and double beds.
The best feature is the luxury outdoor shower with on-demand heated water. It has an optional ‘peek a boo’ forest view for those that really want to connect with nature! Although we don't have traditional running water inside of the cabin we leave clean jugs for guests with a source to refill. There is also a quaint outhouse down the path. *please note that the shower is only operational when there is no danger of frost which is generally June- October.*
The trail to the waterfront is 'Algonquinesque' with a long staircase wrapping past beautiful rocks. It is approximately 400ft long and takes about 4 minutes at a leisurely stroll. Because the cabin is elevated, the top section of the trail leads down a set of stairs. It is flat and well groomed from there but this rental is best suited for guests who are sure footed.
The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, small fridge, crock pot, griddle and BBQ. Water jugs are provided and refilled at the start of each new rental.
The woodstove and electric radiator will keep things warm during the spring and fall. Firewood (for heat only) is built into the fee. Guests are asked to bring their own outdoor firewood.
This wonderful spot is nature at its best. Some of our neighbours include moose, beaver, and deer. There is decent cell service at the cabin but without wifi, some might enjoy a digital detox. In a pinch, it is usually possible to hot spot.
