Nestled in the heart of the San Bernardino Mountains, Running Springs is a picturesque and serene mountain community, perfectly situated halfway between the vibrant destinations of Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear Lake. This hidden gem offers a tranquil escape, blending the peacefulness of a small mountain town with convenient access to the diverse attractions and activities of its famous neighbors. Ideal for nature lovers, Running Springs is surrounded by lush forests, providing opportunities for hiking, fishing, and skiing at nearby Snow Valley Resort. Its location is a gateway to the natural beauty of the San Bernardino National Forest, making it a perfect base to enjoy the best of both worlds in Southern California’s mountainous splendor.
The cabin is just 5 minutes off of Highway 18 on a 10,000 sq ft, 1/4 acre lot. There are full-time neighbors on each side but everyone keeps to themselves and it is peaceful. You may be greeted by my neighbor's dog Desdimona (Desi) - she’s a sweetheart.
PARKING - paved driveway that fits 2 cars. It’s a hard right into the driveway so you may want to pull forward, put on your flashers, and back in OR drive past the cabin to the next street and do a u-turn.
Step back in time and enjoy all the vintage touches of this Mid-Century Modern A-frame time capsule in Running Springs nestled perfectly between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear. Enjoy hiking, the nearby lakes in the summer and skiing/snowboarding in the winter. Relax on the large deck high up in the trees, or curl up on the couch with a mug of hot cocoa in front of the Carousel fireplace. Grill up dinner out on the deck, listen to records, play board games and enjoy spending time in this sweet retro vibe.

NOTE - In the winter between November and March you must have chains. They are rarely needed but if stopped you must show you have them in your car in case needed. You can buy new before heading up the mountain and then return if unused.
Occasional road noise can be heard when outside on the front and back decks or if you have a window open.
WINTER - During snow season, November to March, you’ll need an AWD/4WD and chains are required. While only needed maybe 2-3 times during the season, if stopped you will need to show them. You can pick up a set before heading up the mountain and return if unused.
