Summary: I was quite disappointed with this hotel. Sure, the view is stunning, and the staff is kind (as you would expect in Brazil). But the hotel is in need of an update, the walls, bathtub, chairs and bed have seen better days. The rooms are quite run down, to the point that we did not even feel like using the jacuzzi in our suite. The window was broken, and there was plenty of bugs in our room as well as shedded scorpion exosceleton. And, perhaps worst of all, the toilet was not flushed when we arrived. No one wants to become that familiar the previous guest… I have stayed at more than 100 hotels/pousadas/hostels/inns in many different countries. I have never experienced this before. An experience indeed, but not a good one. I was happy we had only booked one night, as I would not have wanted to pay for another night. I think the reason is severe understaffing (we did not see much staff around but the few we saw where kind and helpful) and lack of management and investment. Until these things are resolved, I imagine you can find better value for your money in Búzios.
