This 3BR/2.5BA beach cottage provides a quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday living. Set within the naturally preserved setting of the St. George Plantation, ‘Deacon Blues’ can be found amongst the palms and pines near the Apalachicola Bay.
Boasting an open living space with high ceilings, the living room has a large, Smart TV and a gas fireplace for chilly nights. This space also opens onto an expansive screened porch that runs the length of the house and offers a great spot for watching the sunset. The porch has a nice view of the Bay and is a perfect place to relax. The nearby dining table seats up to 6 with additional seating for 4 at the kitchen bar. A well-equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and plenty of counterspace make cooking at home easy and convenient. Just past the kitchen is a sizable pantry with full size washer/dryer, and a ½ bath can be found between the living and dining areas.
You may find most of your time spent on the large, furnished and screened-in porch with ceiling fans and views of the Apalachicola Bay featuring spectacular sunsets. This space offers plenty of room to lounge, enjoy a card game or even an evening meal. Just outside of the screened-in porch is a covered grilling area with gas grill, sink and a sundeck also with Bay views.
The first of two downstairs bedrooms holds a Queen-size bed and daybed while the second bedroom offers a Queen-size bed and access to the spacious screened-in porch. A full bathroom with tub/shower separates these two bedrooms and each has their own Smart TV.
The entrance of the upstairs master bedroom takes you thru a well-lit master bathroom with abundant counterspace and a large shower stall with both a fixed and hand-held showerhead. The master bedroom has a King-size bed, large screen Smart TV, convenient workspace desk and mini-fridge as well as a private balcony with views of the Apalachicola Bay.
Outdoor amenities include an enclosed hot/cold outdoor shower, fish cleaning sink and covered carport.
The walk to the beach is a leisurely 6-8 minutes to a nearby community beach boardwalk or you may prefer to bring/rent bicycles and enjoy a quick bicycle ride to the beach. And don't forget Deacon! We allow up to 2 medium size dogs with advance approval for an additional fee.
As guests staying inside the St. George Plantation, you can enjoy miles of bike paths, walking trails and access to fishing at Bob Sike’s Cut. The nearby St. George Plantation Clubhouse offers a community lap pool, fitness center and tennis/pickleball court. A second community pool and tennis/pickleball court are also available for use.
