Samphire is a government approved quarantine villa and is located in St Peter on the beautiful west Coast of Barbados. It is just a short walk of 200 metres down to the nearest beach and to The Fish Pot, a well-known and popular restaurant that serves excellent food. Port St Charles, Nikki Beach and Port Ferdinand are all in walking distance. Speightstown is a 20 minute walk or a five minute drive away. There are buses from Six mens into Speightstown. Speightstown has a bus station with transport links all over the island.
The home comes with ceiling fans to the living room, kitchen, garden room and dining area. There are two double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and built in wardrobes. Both bedrooms have air-conditioning. The living area is open plan with a spacious living room, dining area, garden room and a full kitchen. You can relax on the front patio watching the humming birds feeding or on the rear patios enjoying the tropical garden and the cooling Caribbean breezes. Swim in the pool or at one of the nearby quiet beaches. The covered area adjacent to the pool provides an outdoor area where you can dine in comfort, enjoying the balmy evenings and the chorus of frogs and crickets. There is also a shaded seating area in the garden for relaxing or enjoying a cocktail. (Cocktail shakers provided)

We feed three cats. They are neutered, healthy and clean. You may not see them at all except at feeding time. If you are at home in the evenings they may appear. In spite of what they might tell you, they are never allowed to stay in at night or go into the bedrooms. They are six years of age and it took over three years for us to persuade them to be at all friendly. The black ones are brother and sister and they are not very keen on their ginger sister!
We are happy to arrange for them to be fed in the morning and evening if you would prefer not to do this.
The property has a lovely swimming pool.
The pool is 18′ x 30′, a good size for swimming or just cooling off and relaxing. There is plenty of shade by the pool provided by the covered area where there is an outdoor dining area.
The nearest town is Speightstown, located just a 5 minute drive south. Speightstown is a small historic Caribbean town where you will find supermarkets, banks, a post office, bakery and local market vendors. You will also find a selection of bars, cafes and restaurants.
Close to Samphire you will find a variety of local places to eat; on the coast road in Six Mens there is a bar called Joan’s Snackette which is a very friendly rum shop with a menu of food and events. There is a Fish Fry at Braddy’s bar and at Mertons in Moontown. Both of these locations serve chicken, pork and a selection of local fish cooked the “Bajan” way. These are great places to experience the local life and cuisine. The Fish Pot is open for breakfast lunch and dinner (fine dining in the evening) and just a short drive away is the Yacht Club at Port St Charles and Dockside at Port Ferdinand.
